HISTORIC WALKING TOURS
See and hear the pre-Bavarian history of Leavenworth in a one-hour guided walking tour while learning how the transition was made to an old-world Bavarian theme in the 1960s. Includes museum admission!
In a newly-formed partnership, the Greater Leavenworth Museum has recently transitioned from volunteer-led historical tours of downtown Leavenworth, to utilizing the dynamic personalities and historic expertise of Bavarian Walking Tours’ guides. These hour-long tours bring the town’s unique history to life as participants walk the trail of the area’s historic peavine railroad, see relics of what was once the region’s largest sawmill, while being regaled with stories of Leavenworth’s distant past — along with personal stories of how we transitioned from railroad town to Bavarian Village. Tours operate daily April through December, and include admission to the museum.
